The Corporate Controller is responsible for overseeing the accounting department and ensuring financial information provided to management and other stakeholders is accurate, reliable, timely, and compliant with accounting regulations.  Kurt Manufacturing operates in an international environment with four divisions located in two US states and one entity in China.

Essential Functions

  • Oversees the activities of the corporate accounting department for the accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports including, but not limited to, internal and external monthly financial statements, periodic audits, budgets, and forecasts.  
  • Ensures compliance with accounting regulations.
  • Provides cost accounting data and analysis for multiple divisions within a diverse business environment.
  • Ensures the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable and system-generated transactions and processes.
  • Assists with the accurate and timely management of all accounts receivable transactions including billings, cash receipts, and applications.
  • Oversees corporate tax compliance to assure the accurate and timely completion of all corporate income tax returns, sales and use tax reporting, and unemployment taxes in a multi-state environment.
  • Assist CFO with bank activities including treasury management, cash forecasts, and bank compliance.
  • Establishes and maintains systems and controls that verify the integrity of all systems, processes, and data, and enhances the company's value.
  • Supports the Chief Financial Officer as requested with accurate and timely special reports.
  • Provides support to day-to-day operations of the business and assists in making key strategic decisions.
  • Interacts with the IT department for data management and report needs.
  • Communicates with co-workers, management, clients, and others in a courteous, professional manner.

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • 8 years of accounting experience with an emphasis in manufacturing
  • 3 years of supervisory experience
  • Strong analytic, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to multi-task
  • Experience with ERP systems

 

Preferred

  • CPA or CMA Certification
  • Experience with an ESOP-owned company
