 Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in social services, human resources, or a related field
  • Minimum of two (2) years of youth residential treatment experience.
  • Therapeutic Crisis Intervention trainer preferred.
  • Experience performing Therapeutic Crisis Intervention.
  • Proven ability to communicate tenants of Trauma Informed Care and Authentic Youth Engagement.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of demonstrated experience effectively supervising and leading a diverse team.
  • Intermediate experience in Microsoft Office Suite and related program software.
  • Able to successfully complete the train-the-trainer program for Therapeutic Crisis Intervention.

 

Job Summary

The Crisis Response Team Coordinator develops and executes a comprehensive response to client crises on the Cleveland Christian Home campus. This role involves coaching and developing a thorough understanding of therapeutic crisis intervention, trauma-informed care, and authentic youth engagement within the philosophy of care and living environment. The Crisis Response Team Coordinator is expected to serve as a leader during client crises and provide support to residential staff and leaders for de-escalation, safety, and dignity.

 

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Leads the Crisis Response Team to coordinate appropriate responses to prevent, de-escalate, and contain a child’s aggressive and pain-based behavior in ways that are congruent with organizational guidelines.
  • Provides weekly individual and/or group supervision.
  • Provides supervision and administrative oversight to Crisis Response Team.
  • Follows-up with staff members and provides coaching to ensure Therapeutic Crisis Intervention and other trainings are implemented as designed.
  • Completes administrative tasks and documentation to ensure the team is compliant with residential licensure requirements.
  • Serves as a liaison between Crisis Response Team and other teams.
  • Remains abreast of updated literature and research pertaining to Therapeutic Crisis Intervention, Trauma Informed Care, and Authentic Youth Engagement.
  • Provides ongoing training and coaching to the Crisis Response Team in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention, Trauma-Informed Care, and Authentic Youth Engagement.
  • Works in partnership with other residential leaders to develop and implement a comprehensive response to client crisis.

  • Residential Knowledge: understands the unique culture of residential settings; able to teach staff ways to respond to crisis; articulate the mission and vision of The Centers and Cleveland Christian Home; partner with residential leaders for culture change.

  • Situational Leader: enables and empowers team members to develop their competence and commitment in completing goals and tasks; creates an environment of trust and mutual respect and sets an example for other leaders in the organization.
