Our Workforce Center impacts local communities through the linkage of underserved job seekers with local employers through our culturally competent job readiness training, case management, national third party certifications, job placements and retention support with a large network of corporate partners. Through our training tracks in Customer Service, Hospitality, Pharmacy, and general job readiness in both English and Spanish, we are able to provide essential skills to our job seekers and to help prepare them for success in today’s workplace.

Job Summary

The Resource Success Coach supports El Barrio clients (employees) employed by several healthcare organizations to mitigate or remove barriers to maintaining employment by linking them with resources and coaching them through crises. Monitor progress, and identify various challenges for retaining employment, address those challenges, develop retention strategies, and maintain communication until resolved including follow up. This position is responsible for case management and establishing rapport and trust with employees seeking assistance, HR teams and funding administrators, maintaining confidentiality, and providing exceptional customer service.

 

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for updating and maintaining accurate and timely records of all activities, employment plans and submitting reports as requested.
  •  Updates and maintains client hard copy and database files with the highest level of detail and timeliness possible.
  • Develops and maintains supportive relationships with employees, supervisors, and HR staff in the employee workplace to manage any and all challenges that employees might face in retaining employment by providing necessary supportive services.
  • Develops and implements strategies for successful outreach and relationship building among the target employees.
  • Travels to worksites, public spaces, or neutral offices to meet employees seeking assistance on a schedule that is flexible and in the best interest of the employee to the best extent possible.
  • Assist employees serving as a liaison with employers if needed, in issues related to retention with the goal of successful employment retention for long-term success.
  • Maintains excellent work relationships with clients, working in coordination and providing support when needed.
  • Conducts research, interviews, and collects information necessary for, and produces, success stories to be utilized in reports, grants, and publications.
  • Maintains, analyzes, and explains statistics on all aspects of retention for presentations, reports, and compliance purposes for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Actively works towards accomplishing and meeting program goals as outlined within contracts, while keeping the employee at the front of mind.
  • Must be able to travel daily and maintain a flexible schedule that may include evenings and weekends, as needed.

 

Job Qualifications

  • Highschool diploma
  • Bridges out of Poverty Trainer Certification a plus, required after hire.
  • Exposure to or experience working with people in crisis or facing life challenges preferred.
  • Must have demonstrated experience working with electronic platforms (i.e. Microsoft software, internet, databases, and virtual learning platforms).
  • Requires travel to other facilities and meetings. Must be able to travel between locations, without issues, by way of own means.
  • Flexible schedule to work outside of normal business hours to meet employee needs and to attend training courses, and meetings.
  • Bilingual in oral and written English and Spanish a plus

 

Physical Demands/Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office, community setting, and virtual environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak and hear. The employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods of time, stand, walk, use hands and fingers, and reach with hands and arms. Travel and work outside of normal hours may be required for meetings, presentations, trainings, and other events.
