Childcare Worker

Location: The Salvation Army, Lakeland, Florida

Position Type: Regular Full-Time

Pay Range: $12.00 – $14.00/ Hour

About this opportunity:

Provides child care services for children including personal care, hygiene, learning and development activities and specialized programs; plans, develops, and teaches pre-school classes; prepares and maintains records; maintains cleanliness and orderliness of child care property.

Key responsibilities:

• Provides constant care for the needs of the children in an efficient, clean, loving, safe, secure, and healthy manner.
• Develops and implements lesson plans which are age-group program specific; utilizes age-group appropriate discovery areas, enriched with program-specific activities, including teacher made materials and hands on activities.

What we are looking for in you:

• High school diploma AND
• Two years’ experience teaching child development programs in a church or pre-school environment OR
• Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
• Valid State Driver’s License
• CPR and First Ade Certification

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Ability to lift, hold, and carry toddlers on a regular basis.  Work is performed in a normal childcare environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
