Coffee Shop & Youth Ministry Worker

The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, has an opening for a Part Time Coffee shop/Youth Ministry for the Kentucky - Tennessee Territory, located in Cleveland, Tennessee. 

Job Summary:

The Coffee Shop/Youth Ministry Worker is responsible for fulfilling orders and completing sales transactions within the establishment and performing other support functions which may include cleaning, food preparation, customer seating, stocking areas and maintaining inventory. Develops relational ministry when opportunities present; and serves as an example of Christian character with the goal of leading others to Christ.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to interact with the public and coworkers in a friendly, enthusiastic and outgoing manner Ability to bend, twist, and stand to perform normal job functions

Ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and policy documents, as well as converse comfortably with customers

Ability to learn and maintain knowledge of coffee house products and procedures Knowledge of cleaning practices, methods, and techniques.

Ability to assist in the preparation and presentation of food items Ability to wash dishes and coffee house appliances

Ability to clean counter area and dining area

Education and Experience

High school diploma or G.E.D preferred, but not required; and

six months of cash handling experience, customer service experience, and experience working in a restaurant environment preferred,

or

any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Mental and Physical Requirements:

Ability to meet attendance requirements.

Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.

Duties are usually performed by frequent walking and/or standing, kneeling, or squatting relieved by lesser periods of sitting.
