The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, has a job opening for a PT Program Aide position for the Hagerstown Red Shield Club under the Potomac Division.

Position Summary

The Program Aide plans, implements, supervises members, and evaluates activities provided within a specific program area, supporting our priority outcome areas of Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, Good Character, and Citizenship. May oversee special programs and/or events (i.e.,Keystone, Youth of the Year and Awards Programs), and/or participate in the implementation of other unit activities, as necessary.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience

High School Diploma, one (1) year of Boys & Girls Club experience working with youth; or two (2) years previous work-related experience in the field of Children and Youth services; or Completed Program Aide Professional Development Plan.

Licenses and Certifications

Valid State Driver’s License, required

First Aid and C.P.R. Certification (or ability to obtain)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Must enjoy working with children, must possess good communication, an outgoing personality, and speak/write English fluently.

Physical, Mental Requirements

Work requires the ability to lift and carry and/or push/pull moderately heavy (25-50 lbs.) materials, supplies, and equipment.

Required to grasp objects, push, and pull objects, bend, stand, walk, squat, or kneel.

Moderate to high mobility; duties are usually performed by combinations of sitting, standing, and walking on a frequent change basis.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust.
Eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity to manipulate activities are required.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in an indoor and outdoor recreational environment where there may be physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt and the like.
