About this opportunity: Assists the Events team in the coordination of special events, helping make arrangements for community events, meetings, campaigns, and special events; helping conduct various administrative support and project management duties; assists in conducting database and other research and helps prepare complex reports, spreadsheets, and analysis of information; provides primary support for Events Team.

Key responsibilities:

  • Assists the Events team in coordinating and completing various assignments to ensure execution of yearly special events on time; helps in the coordination of communications for special events.
  • Assists the Events team in performing a variety of project support work and ensures the accuracy and completeness of assignments.
  • Helps evaluate special events to determine effectiveness and recommends changes for improvements, as necessary.
  • Attends meetings and other community involvements as assigned, which are pertinent to the promotion and support of The Salvation Army and enhancing its special events and projects.

What we are looking for in you:

  • High school education in process,
  • One year experience progressively responsible experience coordinating and participating in special events, preferably in a nonprofit environment.
  • Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write and communicate the English language effectively. Ability to operate various general office equipment including a telephone, computer and adding machine. Ability and willingness to conduct all duties in accordance with the ministry of the organization and its Christian principles; conducts all communications and job duties with the highest level of professionalism. Duties are usually performed seated. Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking. Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting, and carrying light to moderately heavy objects (up to 50 lbs. during events) occasionally.

Working Conditions: Work may be performed in an office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt and the like but not limited to the office environment.
