Van Driver & Grate Patrol

Location: National Capital Area Command - Sherman Ave Corps               

Position Type:    Regular Part-Time

Pay Range: $18.00 - $18.48/hour

About this opportunity:

This position is responsible for operating the Salvation Army Grate Patrol program vehicle to transport meals, serve meals, transport volunteers, and occasionally distribute supplies to individuals who are homeless and living on the streets of Washington, DC. This position is part-time only, and the hours are from 5:00 PM- 9:00 PM typically working 7 days on and 7 days off shifts.

Key responsibilities:

• Provides evening transportation and serving of meals and/or transportation of volunteers to 5-6 stops in the downtown DC area to provide meals to individuals who are homeless
• Handle and serve food in a safe and sanitary manner
• Support efforts of Grate Patrol Case Manager I to identify individuals in need of immediate assistance and/or in immediate crisis
